Production

The mills boast of running
25,000 modern ring spindles, with 6½ inches spindle
lifts. Its production figures are some of the highest in
the world, running Lakshmi Reiter 1008-spindle
ring-frames at speeds in excess of 25,000 rpm.
It is pertinent to note that not all of the production
is achieved through high spindle speeds, in
consideration to quality and preparation. But
nonetheless, it is interesting to note that intense
management and technical personnel’s efforts to perfect
the art of sliver preparation has, to a good extent,
borne fruit.
The medium-term weighted average count of the mills is
about Ne 85; the figure showing periodic variation due
to market conditions, each incorporated in the monthly
spin plan.
Maintaining a super-fine average count enables better
overall monitoring of quality due to the lower quantity
of yarn produced; it is also pertinent to note that an
added advantage of higher average count is that the
preparatory machinery are now run at even lower speeds
providing the foundation for a product with excellent
consistency.
The warping performance and loom efficiency achieved
with the yarn will be quite outstanding, contributing
directly to the profitability of the weaving mill.
